I have been with the company since 2006 as an actor, musician and drama workshop facilitator.
I have trained in: Playback theatre forms, playback conductor through the International Playback Theatre Network; Afrikan and salsa dance.
Joining a theatre company was never my life plan. I did not understand the arts. It was expensive and somewhat elitist, or so I thought. My experience with Breathing Fire challenged my assumptions; I find playback an excellent, powerful tool for engaging with communities who rarely get heard; they are honoured and respected. I enjoy the wonder of participants when their moments are played back to them using improvisational forms enthused by the essence of Afrikan traditions. I am honoured to be part of a dynamic group of BLACK women.
